FAQ’s

While you wait for our full website to be back up and running, find out a little more about Bellaluma with these FAQ’s below…

Although Bellaluma itself is young, our love of Goldens started many years ago.

We started out raising puppies for Assistance Dogs Australia which is where our true love affair with the breed first began. Through this connection we met Karen & Bill Vowell from Alubyc Golden Retrievers who introduced us to the world of showing & breeding & they continue to mentor us to this day.
With a background in puppy school training & grooming, Bellaluma pups are much loved family members, raised inside our home, exposed to a variety of enrichment, socialisation, training, outings & are friends to all they meet.

Our puppies are raised using a number of different socialisation activities and programs, commencing with ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), which starts while the babies are in the whelping box (day 3 to 16). We also follow the Puppy culture way and have enrichment activities for our babies once they move out of the whelping box. These activities and programs are all aimed at socialising the babies so when they leave us to go to their forever homes, they have a sound golden temperament – kind, friendly and confident.

As a registered ethical breeder, our responsibility to the puppies doesn’t end the day they leave the nest. We are available to our puppy buyers for the dogs life, here to help in any way and answer any questions you may have.

Bellaluma Goldens are ANKC registered & Dogs QLD members.
Dogs Queensland Member Number & QLD Breeder Supply Number 4100263461.

“Bella” means beautiful – “aluma” means strong and brave.

We are located on the Gold Coast, QLD Australia.

Breeding healthy puppies that will have a long and happy life with you is our priority. For this to be achieved, we health test all of our breeding stock before they can be considered suitable for breeding. We use only the best and carefully consider each mating to ensure we achieve a beautiful temperament & quality of health.

Health testing differs from breed to breed, for the Golden Retriever it is required for our breeding dogs to have DNA, hip/elbow X-rays, eye and heart testing. Their health certificates are available upon request.

Our next planned litter will be mid 2025 if Mother Nature is kind to us. Follow our Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with potential litters.

If you are interested in a puppy, please email or phone for a chat or fill in our puppy enquiry form.

Puppies are allocated to families based on your preferences and we will always strive to match the right pup with the right home. We don’t take any deposits until the puppies are born and families have been confirmed.

We welcome our new families to a 6 week puppy visit so you can meet the litter and we will help match you with a suitable pup.

Puppies will be ready to leave from 8 weeks old and we will send you home with a starter pack and plenty of information.

As a responsible breeder we are here for you for your goldens whole life.
